A new one and half storey house, built within the garden of the existing dwelling for a private client. The scheme has been developed to work around the existing trees on the site, while providing a contemporary addition to the street scene.
The house is modern in design with a zinc clad roof which wraps down the building and the addition of the traditional red brick which links visually to the existing ‘red house’. The house is compact but cleverly designed so that it feels spacious with an open plan living space with one bedroom at ground floor level and two bedrooms on the first floor. The whole of the first floor is vaulted to create well lit spaces with less conventional forms.
